Taoiseach says banks were 'in denial' about their problems
TAOISEACH BRIAN Cowen has criticised Irish banks which had been “in denial” about the level of their problems when they sought Government support last autumn.

    1) Why did he give people who caused the problem, and were still in denial our money ?

A: it was in the national interest, no action would have sunk the country ... ok then

    2) So why did he let the current batch of bank leaders keep their jobs ?

If there's a cap on the salaries they can't attract "talent"

Well Biffo the clown was minister for Money he was in contact with this crowd all of the time,he had to know what was going on, he had the figures at his finger tips. But being a good boy (Loyal) did what he was told by the other clown Bertie, who said shut up the cash is rolling in we will have a third term. "Believe me Biffo I know about cash rolling in, you should see St. Lukes it is wall to wall" By the way Wall might give you a house too.

The salary cap is a separate issue, incidentally I think bonuses from the fake bubble times should be targeted, rather than future earnings.

But what shocks me here is that Cowen has finally admitted that he bet the Irish state on bankers who "were in denial"

If they weren't contrite back then - there was no chance of them fixing the problems.

It was back in October/November that we needed to sweep out Fingleton,Drum,Sheehy , Goggins ...

The BANKS were in denial. Thats a laugh coming from him. I understand his reluctance to look in mirrors but even a quick glimpse would tell him that he is in charge of the BIGGEST BUNCH OF DENIAL MERCHANTS since St Peter in Getsemene.

    And the denial goes on.

When will the delinquent developers' loans be called in?

(That's delinquent loans, not developers, but delinquent developers works just as well)

Here we go again, the old FF trick of pretending to in oppositon while in government. Brian Clowen is a plank of the highest order. He bailed them out because he was told to by his develper friends.
