IBEC seeks 3% cut in welfare payments

I would love for some of those right wing neo-con b***ards of IBEC to actually experience hardship. They have no souls, ethics or morals........all fur coat no Knickers!!

What people do not realise (as it carried so little media coverage) the sector that were hit the hardest in the last budget were the unemployed - job seeker's benefit was cut from 15 months to 12 months (a 20% reduction) - no other group either through pension levies or income levies have been hit this hard, any further hit would be unthinkable. Unfortunately despite our large numbers the unemployed in Ireland do not have as strong a lobby group as other vested interests. I believe the INOU do a good job but they are not in the same league as the IBECs of this world. This is definitely not the time for our government to prey on the most vulnerable in society.

i went on the dole 2 years ago after working for 28 years and i wish i had done so 28 years sooner. with no tax to pay and no commuting costs and all the other bits and pieces that i never even knew existed ive never been better off. to anyone working a low wage like i did for years (and listening to ********************e all day long) i say cop on and come and join!!!

visit any a+ e and its full of skangers , same with most doctors surgerys , no surprise considering they have everything for nothing including 204 per week

You are precisely the reason we need to cut it, and/or change from welfare to workfare.
