Ryanair call on Govt to scrap 'stupid' travel tax

Ryanair have called on the Government to scrap its "stupid and unfair" €10 travel tax, as Fáilte Ireland released traffic figures which show that the passenger numbers to and from Ireland in the month of February fell by over 220,000 (-10.5%).

I call on Ryanair to scrap its stupid checking in tax, and its stupid credit card tax, and its stupid baggage tax....

and to suggest that tourist numbers are down because of the 10 euro tax is ludicrous, there are much more obvious and relevant reasons for why discretionary travel is down.
Actual morality is doing what is right regardless of what you're told. Religious morality is doing what you're told, regardless of if it's right.

So many anti-Ryanair people who would rather see O'Leary lose money than see Irish Tourism thrive.

Surely Ryanair's toilet tax has got to be the most stupid of all
We should be shaping an Ireland based on full respect for the human and civil rights of all our people, an Ireland of which Larkin and Connolly would be very proud.

The government should scrap its travel tax and replace it with a 100% tax on airline check-in fees, credit card fees and "wheelchair levies"

It would generate the same revenue while providing encouragement for airlines to reduce their hidden charges.

No in fact it was genius. It was never going to be introduced and only pure morons thought it would. O'Leary and co were laughing at just how dumb some people were.

Ryanair got hundreds of thousands of euros (and possibly millions) worth of free advertising.

And when they come up with another crazy idea they will get the same.

It was uniformly negative advertising. Plenty of people were put off ever flying with them.

To be honest - I used to be an evangalist for Ryanair - but they've lost the plot with the on-line Check-in fee. I don't think I will fly with them again.
