Anyway, yeah, S&P's announcment was lost. But it's too far gone now to be brought up again.

And Geraghd, no more gating of things!

    True about the baby....so thanks.

I think criticism of S&P in return was a bit unfair. I did a lot of work with them (not for them, I used to submit figures to them for work) abd found the area I worked with to be very diligent. They would often phone us up and throw a couple of quick questions our way to to confirm what we sent.

Interesting to see Joan Burton basically told them to mind their own business in relation to irish politics

I would disagree. Outside influence is needed in some areas.

Whether Joan likes it or not (and she's a smart cookie so she knows it) Standard and Poors have huge influence on the world markets.

Enough to legally interfere with national politics?

    Interfere?

I thought the guy just gave an opinion. I don't think he was advocating armed rebellion.

He said something we all know to be true. But as an outsider, people didn't like it. It's like when someone gives out about your crazy relative. You and your cousins know they are nuts, but you're miffed if some one else says it.

If he starts funding FG (or FF or anyone) then he is beginning to interfere.

I knew it was one of them but I couldn't remember which so went with the one I thought was right but was subsequently found to be wrong.

Sorry, Odyessus, the plural for sergeant-major is sergeant-major. There's only one that was cloned years ago. Back when Julius was a legionaire.

Julius was never a Legionnaire, he started his army career as a Military Tribune, and the Sergeant-Major was a Primus Pilus.

(But there is a strong resemblance. Maybe he just changed his name?)
