Some are on the rock n roll in the last year because of necessity ,but they are now finding out that its fairly lucrative, your in the system and now do a bit of nixing on the side, bring the monies up to what you were earning before been laid off.
A champion of the people emerges with the age-old and appealing promise of "something for nothing" - to be financed through every-increasing taxes. Supply and demand are thrown out of gear - the overhead goes up; the effective use of human energy goes down; the standard of living is lowered because money cannot buy wealth that is not produced.

Well I hope that the people of North Central, when the opportunity arises give Mr. Kelleher the chance to line up for hours waiting to get his benefit.

Didn't see the clip myself, but to go on the Back To Work Enterprise Allowance (BWEA) you have to have been on Jobseeker's Benefit or Allowance for at least two years That seems rather a long time to be unemployed just to qualify for BWEA.

You actually get benefits for 4 years -- tapering down from 100% in year 1 to 25% in year 4.

The BWEA is actually quite an effective way of assisting unemployed people to start their own business legally and transparently.

Permatan has his constituency unfortunately.
Here's hoping he gets a reality check.
Its only a chat, we ain't the world council.
In 2000 the Women's Institute in Britain gave Tony Blair the slow hand clap to demonstrate their contempt.
It was dignified, restrained and effective.Doesn't Bertie deserve the same scorn. No shouting, no abuse, no agression just a relentless slow clap whenever he speaks in public would be enough to end that man's presidential fantasy.
