So you would regard some child born here of say, sub Saharan African parents as more Irish than a child born in Liverpool of a mother from Cork and a father from Mayo? If you do you are an extremely odd person and I would venture out of step with all but a small minority.

If it makes you feel better to win arguments by changing the definition of words commonly used, go right ahead. What _is_ your definition of a crash?

For more a more balanced example, how about we use a child born here of sub-Saharan African parents, and a child born to Irish parents in sub Saharan African? Can you explain to me why the latter would feel more affinity to this country, than one who was brought up here, experienced Irish life, went to school in Ireland with Irish schoolmates, etc?

    ... an English twat.
Whatever you think of Myers, he got his figures from the CSO - are they English twats too ?

Ah, great. Simply redefine the term "property crash" as something which has never ever happened and, hey presto, we avoid it.

We could do the same with "recession" too. Simply redefine it as a 40% drop in GDP in 2 months. No more recession!

    We should make you Taoiseach.

Something to do with his parents bringing him up & imparting values ?

There are somalians living in London, into the 3rd & 4th generation who might as well still be living in the desert.

What "values" would make them more Irish than someone who had actually lived here?

I mean, I'm one of these mythical non-Irish born to Irish who has these values, obviously, and I certainly don't know.

Not great with maths terminology, but will do so ...if you tell me what a log difference is.
