    FF will probably ignore it.

FG deliver first budget surplus. FF deliver first budget deficit.

Is that the plan where they proposed implementing the Green Party Energy Policy - except they want to set up a Quango to do it?

No such thing as facilitating entrepreneurs - Fine Gael want to turn DCENR into a Semi-State and freeze out the little guy.

My favourite bit is their proposed ban on diesel fuel from 2015. According to the Fine Gael plan we will have to get by with 7% of current diesel supplies after that.

Are they expectinf to create 100,000 jobs driving rickshaws?

How much green party wave generated energy?

How much green party wave generated energy?

You would not get much light from the current output of wave energy under the Green Party.

How much is invested in wave generated electricity this year?

    Red Herring!

Fine Gael are proposing to ban mineral diesel from 2015. They are going to replace it with 180,000 tonnes of Biodiesel.

180,000 tonnes is about 7% of our diesel consumption.

Are we going to use rickshaws for 93% of our transport needs?

Dickie Broton wrote to Lenihan 12 days before last wednesday requesting unformation from the department in order to attempt to put together a budgetary proposal package.

As of Wednesday, the letter had not been recognised, let alone acted on.

    So much for 'national government'.

The getting rid of mineral diesel by 2015 is a pretty silly idea ... in fact, it is plain stupid. Unless it can be doen in conjunction with the rest of the world, could someone from FG tell me exactly where or how they are going to provide transportation for goods and agri vehicles ?

Can I remind them that currently, we don't manufacture lorries or tractors, so I assume if we intend to carry on moving goods around the place and continuing with agriculture, then we will be importing said lorries and tractors from some other country.. who manufacture them to run on mineral diesel

Unless there is some other part of the plan to put the whole country into bio-fuel production .. did I miss that

Thats why there should be no new Tallaght strategy. FF want FG to submit budget proposals without the proper info which would be impossible.

    Bio Fuel is greenwash

The production of biofuel in the form of palm oil has proven to be disaster in terms of global warming and pushing up food prices(at least prior to the recession). In indonesia biofuel production in the form of palm oil has lead to massive deforestation(and an associated huge rise in CO2 emmisons), people being illegally evicted from their land by multinational such as APP and food riots.

Kenny hasn't a clue what he is taking about, for America to replace just 7% of their oil demand with biofuels, it would mean every acre of agricultural land in the country being taken out of food production.

FG should stick to what the know about(whatever that is if anything) because that sure know FA bout the environment, green issues and the like as the've proven down through the years in the area of planning, pandering to the farm lobby when it comes to pollution etc.
