Obviously Martin Cullen pushed the percentages up with all the flights and hotels he's booking online

Not surprising. Many things are cheaper online.
DVDs, camcorders, cosmetics....why would anyone buy these in a store?

    Computers, holidays, tickets, etc etc

I'd say I spend about 50-70% of my disposable income online.

A couple of friends of mine also pointed out the discipline of doing the grocery shop online as it imposes the use of a shopping list psychology, i.e., they are not so exposed to compulsive shopping when they are not beside the shelf with the goods on it and consequently find they spend much less shopping online than when they go to the supermarket.

I'd say the purchaser recycling charge will need to be enforced much more strictly.

We can't have people buying their goods from elsewhere -- who'll pay for all the high street rents?

If we are competitive abroad we can export. If we aren't, we can't, simple as.
We need to reduce our costs urgently.

Even clothes can now be bought online.

Helly Hansen allow you to return your goods if they don't fit. I bought a jacket that was too big and within a week, I had the correct size and picked a different colour.

Is that so?... Where do the other 7% of online shoppers turn? The washing machine?
