Major redundancies to be announced in Eircom: The Last Word

According to Matt Cooper on TodayFM there are unconfirmed reports that major redundancies are to be announced at Eircom tomorrow. The parent company Babcock and Brown have been in serious financial difficulties for sometime and Eircom has been leverged to the hilt through the various buyouts since privatisation.

I truly hope that Babcock and Brown suffer an Anglo-style collapse. They paid €2.4 billion for Eircom.............a company that was barely turning over an operating profit!

They had a firesale of assets in January to stave off the inevitable for a few months

Then maybe the state could buy it back for a fair price. Say €0.00

Dick Spring ( socialist ) also played a big role in this.

Which politician was looking for "donations" from stockbrokers at the time of this floatation?
