I find it amazing that the government are trying to save 2 Billion this year and we have massive cut backs, strikes, and real hardship.

So how the hell are we going to live through and find the other 16 Billion +?

I truely worry about the future.

This is nothing, yet. Not much point in worrying about it, though. The country has been through worse.

When?
Not talking about post civil war.
Talking recent history.
When?
Its only a chat, we ain't the world council.
In 2000 the Women's Institute in Britain gave Tony Blair the slow hand clap to demonstrate their contempt.
It was dignified, restrained and effective.Doesn't Bertie deserve the same scorn. No shouting, no abuse, no agression just a relentless slow clap whenever he speaks in public would be enough to end that man's presidential fantasy.

It's never been through such a slow-down, true. It has certainly been in economically far worse straits.

Exactly....and when we were in a worse state, we did not have the ECB and we had far fewer connections to the rest of the world...

And we had far far less debt.
And the IMF were waiting for the call even then.

Oh I agree - I just think there's no point in worrying about it, because we don't yet know how it will pan out. Strikes are pretty much a given, but people might decide to pull together instead of looking after number one and devil take the hindmost.

National Debt as a % of GDP? No it wasn't.
