Sean Fitzpatrick on the Marian Finucane show 4/10/2008

I just listened to a podcast of Sean Fitzpatrick on Marian Finucane's show last October.

Fitzpatrick gave a very confident performance, denying that his bank had lent in a reckless fashion.

He stated that the Regulator was regulating Anglo Irish in a very close fashion.

He blamed everything on an international liquidity crisis. Saying "this is not a shameful position for Irish banks", because they didn't cause the crisis.

When asked by Marian would he apologise for the actions of bankers he refused, again blaming everything on global factors.

In the light of what we now know, I have to say the brass neck of the man is breathtaking.

The Bert would be proud of him.

Breadan, if you pay attention to Biffo, he's singing from the same hymn sheet also - blame the international market! When are we going to stop being sheeple?

This supports the approach set out in our Renewed Programme for Government last October where we clearly set out that “the future of the economy lies in exports.” We have worked and we are continuing to work to ensure as a small open economy we don’t price ourselves out of the markets we need to thrive. Progress has been made in driving down costs and improving the quality the goods and services we trade internationally. As growth returns to many of our trading partners, we will strongly pursue the competitiveness agenda so Ireland is well placed to gain from the international upswing

Quote: "I can't apologise with any degree of sincerity".

Probably the only true thing he says in the entire interview

Sheeple... ah yes I have heard the definition of sheeple before. Someone who does not subscribe to your thesis is a member of the sheeple.

L'Oreal, because he's worth it, his silence that is.

Seany signed of on how much as 'personal loans' 80 billion? 180 billion?

    Who were those loans for?

If fingers knows where the bodies are buried then seany knows who put them there.

I presume you mean million rather than billion...
