Not sure which scenario - cravenness or credulity - speaks worse of him. Anyway, he'll have 1 less preference in Dublin 6 next time round, that's for sure.
He lost my respect when he twice defended Mary Harney's health policy. Thus I now have Gormley blindspot unless it's on here. [P.ie- when one cannot avoid it unless the filters are fine-tuned]

I always gave the Greens #1 at general elections. They're completely off my ballot paper for ever now.

As someone who has known John Gormley for 20 years, supported him through thick and thin, and who knows how tough his job is right now and what a shrewd politician he is...

John! What the F are you saying ??????????????????????????????????? FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gormley and the Greens are so naive.

By going into government with Fianna Fail they have squandered a once-in-a-lifetime, just like Labour in 1992.

    When will they learn?

    Fair play to you.

There is an element of bunker mentality when you have to pursue a course that is fairly unpopular. In the end maybe people becom isolated and lose their strategic vision.

Make sure you find out who your Local Election candidate is and tell them. Tell them to circulate it to their colleagues in the party, too.

I did, and in fairness the guy seemed sympathetic (and a bit upset). Told him I won't be voting for them (for the first time ever) if the Greens are propping up an FF government on election day.
