I dont think so. Most of my basket of goods have increased since last autumn's price war.

If there is a fall in food prices, it will be due to the technically of the high food prices of late 07/early 08 passing through the system.

Perhaps if the CEO/Director of the NCA thinks food prices will fall, she should give up a bigger chunk of her salary. Better still, maybe she should 'resign'(get 630,000 Euro) and become a 'consultant' to the NCA.

It will. Stuff we get from they get from the UK will have got cheaper due to exchange rates. There is loads of downward pressure from less money in the economy.

The only reason we were getting ripped off was because we could afford to be.

She would not get this by just resigning.
At the very least she would have to behave in a manner that brought her position and the agency into disrepute and have caused the public to have lost confidence in her and the agency.
Only then would she be able to arrange such a package and a golden handshake.

Every time these packages are discussed it is mentioned that there are contractual obligations in place. So the qustion I would ask is will the contracts for the new FAS Director and the new Financial regualtor be changed to prevent such abuses in the future?
Probably not the public sevice unions might call for a day of action!

What trend are they predicting for the salary of their FF crony CEO?

And what is the medium-term outlook for the amount of money spend by the NCA on contracts to friends of FF, through Celia Larkin's abuse of her position?

Incredible news - prices should fall

An alternative would be prices may not fall

If this analysis isnt worth 25,000 my names not Patrick Neary

I think Mr Neary has enough to get by for the moment, he doesnt need to give advice to the NCA.

If he was stuck for a few bob, he could sell his story to the papers.

'i helped ruined the country, and got paid 630, 000 for it'. If another bank fails, i get a bonus of 400,000. If no other bank fails I get 150,000 a year'

    Classic.

It is especially optimistic that this crystal-ball prediction has come just when it has been revealed that prices over the past six months went up! Even if we take into account the law of averages, or physics - what goes up, surely must come down? - this is pretty pathetic stuff from our consumer baron.

Maybe when the government gets rid of the minimum wage, submits their last receipt-free expenses claim, pumps the last penny into the banks, enthusiastically grasps the last golden handshake, and sees another couple of 100,000 people on the Live Register - prices will come down.

Either that or we'll all starve
