Letting FG to face the downturn was an easy short term option, but you're kidding yourself in thinking that anyone would call a general election at the moment, regardless of who is in power. A general election is not in the State's interest now. We need concentrated leadership, not leaders on a campaign trail.
Te ISEQ has lost 80% of its value, it's decimated, incinerated and destroyed for decades to come and you say it's not as bad as it could have been.
Actually you are right, given how this country has been run it could have gone to zero (maybe give it some time?).
You don't know what you are talking about, my point was clearly that the ISEQ crashed long before the credit crisis. International Investors saw the Irish ponzi in 2007 and sold in droves while the Dow and other markets hit all time highs. It was at this time ignorant apes like Ahern and Cowen were sneering at people for even preaching caution.
Also commodities have had an horrific 12 months.

I do not expect any FFer to understand the concept of doing something for the common good.
Never has the country more needed an election.
Never has a government more needed a mandate from its people for what it has done and what it may have to undergo now that the have put us in this unoly mess.
As for not having time to be on campaign trail.
FFS every single one of them will be giving massively of their time shortly for locals and Europeas anyway.

"we are too busy leading to be electioneering"
yeh me hole.
