The USA is not communist, or becoming communist per se.

It is however, well on it's way to becoming a more state controlled economy than 'Communist' China.

Not only are we looking at more than 100% GDP of economic stimulation being spent within a 6 month period; Barney Frank on the government capping pay for ALL US businesses as an extension of the TARP program.

Barney Frank: TARP's comp curbs could be extended to all businesses - Financial Week

Personally I find socialism to be just as abhorrent and only a stepping-stone away from communism.

I do find it worrying the more America continues down the socialist road.

But hey, it's Thursday, almost the end of the week, it's not all that bad A few overpriced beers in the local and we're laughing...

"A conspiracy theory alleges a coordinated group is, or was, secretly working to commit illegal or wrongful actions, including attempting to hide the existence of the group and its activities."

The OP went wrong in using the word "communism", when he really should have said "State-run/nationalised economy", but it's easy to see how, given as that "communism" is an overused catch-all term for such, ignoring it's specific meaning. No point in getting your knickers in a twist over the semantics.

The genesis of these ludicrous allegations about Obama being a communist are well known and readilly available across the interweb. They stem from the intersection of libertarian politics and conspiracy nut-jobbery. The fact that you appear to be unaware of the genre is your issue, not mine.

Once again your assessment is incorrect; Actually I'm extremely aware of them. They provide me with some lulz on Sundays.

But anyway, falsely terming actual policies being openly implemented to unprecedented levels of state-economic control in the US as communist is understandable (albeit very silly) and is clearly not the same as alleging a coordinated group is, or was, secretly working to commit illegal or wrongful actions, including attempting to hide the existence of the group and its activities.

Your false assessments are your issue, not mine, but I'm just helpfully pointing them out to smooth out misunderstandings.

OK - I see a link that you don't. Maybe I'm the conspiracy nut-job. It must be catching

Love the TARP photo above, by the way.

I understand where your coming from, and I DO see the link, but there's just no point attacking stuff that isn't been claimed, just because associations of points of views often or usually exist...

While it's not unreasonable to assume a link may exist, assume it does and you may end up fighting over strawmen for days.

I mean... I take an Austrian type view of the market (NOT on social programs, which I consider distinct for important reasons), which could have me lumped in there with Alex Jones, purely libertarian viewpoints etc very easily, but it just wouldn't be true.

Not that I have am sane by any means.

Was there ever a real communist who actually believe the crap being peddled?
If I could mass-sterilise the planet, I would. Seriously.
