The Indo are reporting that the Eastern Europeans are still "flocking" here in spite of the recession, and that the dole is equal or higher than "professional salaries" in countries like Poland, Lithuania and Latvia. it is disgraceful that the plain people of Ireland are forced to compete with cheap labour in the context of a devastating recession. It is all the more disgraceful that the Leinster House parties seem to care more about Political-Correctness than the job-prospects of their own nation. But then - a lot of them are federalists who see themselves as loyal to a 'European nation' anyway, so maybe I shouldn't be too surprised.
