    So did the ECB buy the gold or was it sold on the open market? Does the ECB have a large gold reserve?

    I was curious, which is why I started the thread. I'm not curious any more. You yourself seem to like the cut-and-paste of debate, using your beloved Austrian school types. The most elevated of their adherents, Alan Greenspan, has been exposed , in his own admission, as a befuddled failure.

    Last time I checked Greenspan was a monetarist, not an Austrian. Who knows what he's calling himself now.

    Perhaps you might educate yourself further before criticising something you obviously have no idea about.

    I should never have claimed Greenspan was an Austrian. Though I didn't.
