Thank Christ, we're saved. They're calling in "top economists"!

Captain: "Call off the life boats, lads. We're going to be fine after all."

Officer: "But... sir.... we've already hit the iceberg. Five decks are flooded... shouldn't we prepare to -"

Captain: "Nonsense! There's nothing to worry about! We've got some top economists on board!!!"

No these lads only tell us why it happened

A bit like telling us why the titanic sank

They are telling us the lad that was supposed to watch for icebergs either did not notice them or that he was blind.

they will not fix it for us. they can only tell us how.

Bad news is that insurance won't cover the damage and we have to pay for it ourselves

The government needs to set up a committee immediately to propose a way out and a way forward and appoint many of these economists to that committee as well as leading industrialists, entrepreneurs, etc. It's ludicrous that we are not calling on the best and brightest to lead us forward and instead the country is pulling in different directions.
