Irish Exporters Association - 35,000 Jobs at risk this Year

The Irish Exporters Association says 35,000 workers could lose their jobs this year to a sharp decline in exports to the UK and US.

In its end-of-year review, the association says several companies are at risk of closing because of the situation.

It says total exports from Ireland fell by 4% last year, mainly due to the fall in the value of sterling.

It says the situation could be even worse this year unless corrective action is taken

We need to fast-track Transport 21 and make it government's top priority.

We've no option but to build our way out of this mess.
