    Rhonda.

I too was replying to DroughedaSouth but if I had any sense I would ignore him. However he is a man with plenty of adult life under his belt and is probably as nice a lad as you could meet so why not have a chat. He is reluctant to see that there is a crisis afoot.

Anyway John Cruedele has a good article in the NY Post as luck would have it

    Thanks for the kind words.
There is plenty under my belt - I sent the wife to buy a new one recently.
While you can still buy a decent belt in Dunnes for EUR 5.00, there is some hope for the world.

My sister-in-law, a saintly woman who also has a very practical streak and is well able to do a set of books, recently started buying gold coins on her regular trips to Medjugore.

Maybe she is better informed than me, but it shows where the demand for gold coins is coming from.

I've seen gold at USD 800 before when USD 800 was a lot of money.

If I had any sense I would ignore ye.
But life would be very boring if we only talked to people who agree with us.
It's just that I am old enough to know the futility of trying to convince ye.

well if you're open to learning something about silver and gold bugs like myself there is a series of really excellent vids i recommend to people - there is a particularly good one by an outspoken Swiss economist who now lives in Asia (Marc Faber) that doesn't talk so much about metals but commodities in general and how they fit into the current crappy financial picture

Rhonda - you should follow YD's advice and ignore me.

Deep down in my soul, I treat gold and silver bugs like Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and extreme catholic looneys pushing Alive!.

Deep down in what passes for a soul, I probably only believe in the weak form of the efficient market hypothesis.

But current market conditions, especially in the high vicosity Irish market are causing me to doubt even that.

DS. Well at least you were lucky enough to marry into a good family. People like your sister-in -law are what is needed. I am not a religous man but my wife has great faith. It is a pity the Church turned out the way it did in Ireland. They could have been in a position to hold people together if times get bad.

Havn't seen much of Faber recently so I will have a look Rhonda.

I really do wish Ron Paul would learn how to put precise, incisive questions and forgo the opportunity to preach. He has Bernanke there and what does he do, starts into a rambling sermon.
