What is an income levy? Is not just another way of saying "tax" without them saying they are raising taxes?

I did not think we HAD that many state agencies....

It's more onerous than an income tax rise. It is levied on ALL earnings - unlike income tax, it doesnt begin at a certain amount of income

VAT increased - another stealth tax that will hit everyone, instead of a targeted approach.

What the ******************** is he doing?

He raises one tax, but then goes and wastes any possible revenue on some hair brained scheme like climate change. Which was great when we could afford to be Eco-conscious.

I may consider voting Fine Gael next Elections.

Yeah... remember the promise in before the election ?

Put us back in and they'll lower the rate by 1%.. well they're back in and they put the rate up by 1%

And can someone tell me this, or has it been worked out yet... does that levy arise on all income gross.. or is it on taxable income nett, i.e. after the credits have applied ...

Because if it is on gross income, it is ineffect more than a 1% rise in tax..
