Interesting. 100% guarantee on all deposits could be the answer considering irish banks would then become the most attractive for depositers and savers accross europe. One thing i dont understabd is thus, if you have 3 accounts say with 3 seperate irish banks with 100,000 in each, would you still be protected in all three under the new savings protection legislation?

The limits on the protection should stay BUT that is subject to the disclosure of interest earned on these account in tax returns, no disclosure then state doesn't protect.
