Was out in the pub last night discussing the amount of money farmers and other land owners made during housing boom . In effect some people were made millionaires overnight for land that might have previously only generated a modest income . A friend of mine said in the Uk the local council buys the rezoned land at a certain fixed price? Is this true? Why was the Kenny judgment in the 1970s ignored by both FG and FF? I know it could have been unconstitutional but it was never explored-was that to protect farmers?
