Cowen opens new dole office in native Offaly!

Mr Cowen officially cut the ribbon on the new, purpose-built Social Welfare Local Office in Castle Buildings in Tullamore today at 12.30pm.

Fair play to him! the people of Tullamore now have start of the art facilities in which to sign-on and collect the Dole!

I'm sure they won't have to do that.
We elected FF who are great on the economy, nothing to worry about.

Thank God there is someone else who understands Cowen's competence as a leader - the Indecon speech of 19th November, 2007 finally sunk in. (see http://www.finance.gov.ie/viewdoc.asp?DocID=5074) as well as a balanced view to how he has handeled the effects of the international ctedit crisis and oil inflation.
That said Offaly is an unemployment blackspot, with 3,784 people on the live register, so there is probably about 2000 who are actually in unemployment and available for work.
(not a great PR move to allow such a photo op, with the loons out there who blame the government for everything)

Good man Biffo, look after your own first and make sure you are re-elected like all good FF'rs, no doubt the rest of them will follow on perhaps this is the kick start for the construction industry.

Amazing foresight to plan finance and build it to get it ready for the depression

Making sure he has somewhere new to go after the next GE...
Every one sees what you appear to be, few really know what you are, and those few dare not oppose themselves to the opinion of the many, who have the majesty of the state to defend them.

Such as a high profile figure to open a dole office in Offaly? A tad strange and also a perfect opportunity for the opposition to comment on how it is a sign of things to come.

Not the best from a PR point of view and rather odd altogether I think.
