A patriotic holiday this year ?

I believe someone today called on Irish people to holiday at home this year to boost the native tourist industry. Would that be a patriotic act or is the tan so important to us ?

When Irish tourist providers stop ripping Irish people off for being "patriotic" and holidaying at home, then maybe more Irish people will consider it..

Cheaper to go abroad, costs an arm and a leg to get some average food + a bottle of 2 of wino her. Off to italy with me......nice food, good wine and less than half the price, go figure...

Lots of Brits are being unpatriotic and holidaying here. CSO figures released today show a big increase in the number of visitors from Britain.

You dont tend to notice that until after you arrive. If it has an effect it will be on repeat business and not shown in the figures for a little while yet. Some of us dont have a choice and just have to take the exchange rate whack when we go back home. On top of the expensive prices anyway you really do feel the difference after, say, a night on the town.

It is cheaper to go abroad and have hotel staff act snotty and rude to you, you don't care because its a bargain holiday unlike here. And the food will be better.

    indeed...

and holidaying here is like holidaying in latvia, except for the occasionly decent weather and the cheap prices in latvia.
