    Retirement

I heard an economist from UCD this morning on RTE say that the meltdown of the global banking system is going to add an extra 5yrs onto the date when you retire. Thats just great not only to we have to bail out the bankers and their hedge-fund buddies but we have to do it into our retirement. I think its about time to dust off the oul guillotine.

    Re: Retirement

I think you'll find that by global meltdown I do include other places i.e the globe. Also it hasn't just come about overnight, some could trace back the currenct debacle to Greenspans re-inflating the Dot.com bubble, some would go back further to when Nixon came off the gold standard to finance the Vietnam war, and so and so. The ISSUE for me anyway is that banks are bailing out malinvestment by hedge funds, private banks, etc by inflating the money supply, me the saver is going to have pay the price, not only is my purchasing power evaporating, but into the bargain I'm now going to have to work longer so the bankers can keep their x-mas bonuses. Whoevers not upset by this news either belongs the banking system or has sh*t for brains.
