Seems to be. Let's make those low earners pay the same as they would contribute in Sweden, France or Germany.

    In the interests of fairness.

The Irish Times's Cantillon, like certain Brazilian players goes one name only (cf. Neymar, Paulinho) so it's clearly a mark of genius in one's field. Anyway, he/she recycles the above quote as a question with respect to the Irish economy: Have we ever had it so good?

The answer would appear to be a resounding 'no' and the arguments, dear reader, are compelling.
Reading the article, Cantillon would appear to be saying the opposite of No?

Or were you just anticipating the usual turgid whingefest of whataboutery....double bluff eh. I like the cut of your jib.

Really? I came away with the impression that he/she was being resoundingly positive.

I can't even find anything online in which the question is discussed.

The whole Cantillon thing is a throwback to opaque, earlier times when anonymous polcorrs used to scurry around the corridors of Leinster House, trading quotes and rumours on their namelessness.

There's two sides to that coin.
In return people would expect the same level and standard of public services as those countries.
Did you know, for instance, that the median waiting time to be seen in a hospital emergency room in Sweden is almost 1 hour?
    Imagine that!

    OK, thanks.

It would be great to know who writes these articles. The article is garbage.

Previous generations could buy a big house on just the salary of one working class man , with barely a leaving cert. to his name. Plus own a little car.
    The wife stayed at home.
