    - but the days of multi billion investments in dear ol Ireland

    - are drawing to a close....

Soon there will be a consolidated Tax base for multinationals across the EU

    - and the eggs of Ireland's Golden Goose

but this will not happen, it will be wasted, companies will be set up to plunder it. Just give all taxpayers a rebate cheque, divide it up between the real workers.

Ohhhh ... not all is well between iRELAND & APPLE it seems. Now theres one for the books that I wasnt anticipating.

So at the moment Ireland and Apple are going up against the European Commission in the ECJ while Ireland and the European Commission could be going up against Apple ..

    Interesting times!
The Political class in this State will run the multi-nationals out of this State because pressure is coming from their bosses in the EU. This is very worrying for employees of multi-nationals and FG are doing this because there will be an election soon.

Picking a fight with Apple would probably result in FG losing every seat in Cork, including Coveney's. If Apple pulled out of Cork, the place would be cream-crackered.

The real breaking news will be the day we actually take Apple to court.

For now, this could be nothing more than Leo engaging in gesture politics in exchange for some Brexit-related solidarity from our EU partners.

(I'm not saying we SHOULD take Apple to court.)
