    Budget 2018: Thoughts/Predictions

So, Budget Day is approaching once again, what do people think will happen/what would you like to see?

    Here are my early thoughts:

Income tax, cut off points to go up €500 across the board. No changes to rates or credits
    USC No change
    PRSI No Change

    Social Welfare

OAP up €5 pw. No increases in other payments

Vat Rates to remain the same

    Tax Increases:

    10c on 20 cigarettes
    5c on Beer/spirits
3-dc per litre on fuel allegedly to promote switching to electric cars
some tweak to betting tax " to tackle the scourge of on-line gambling"

Overall not much to look forward to. What are other people's feelings?

So much for our Thatcherite taoiseach. More Carol than Margaret.

    A fiver for everyone!!!

Meaning we have no money for actually fixing underfunded existing state services.

It'll be yet another notch on the bedpost of FG's unending failure.

We are net contributors to the EU these days.

That will have to grow with Brexit.
