The link below is a report about how Ireland is one of the worst offenders in the fake tax treaties with third world countries. The poorest of the poor. We facilitate the companies exploiting third world resources and then dodging tax in those countries.

Mistreated: The tax treaties that are depriving the world

That's shameful. Bad enough depriving the Irish tax payer. But we are robbing the poorest.

Corporation is the biggest economic issue of our time, imo. We need a Paris Agreement on corporation tax or else the future is bleak for all of us. Capitalists should support this too, as it is a real threat to the system, where low wages, underemployment and eventually mass unemployment is in nobody's interest.

As a matter of interest would anyone have access to the Employers PRSI figures that these Corporations pay in the Republic of Ireland.

Of course large MNCs should pay no tax - sure aren't they paying their staff to make money for them!

I'm sure it's a lot. But when they employ people that's undodgeable. A complete red-herring argument.

Probably something like aeroplane leasing, the depreciation would be high.

Department warns that corporation tax is a risk

A week after announcing a record annual tax take for the State, the Department of Finance has raised concerns about the future sustainability of Ireland’s €8 billion corporation tax income.

The report cautioned, however, that nearly two-thirds of tax receipts came from a small number of firms paying in excess of €10 million annually and that almost 40 per cent of total revenue could be linked to just 10 companies.

“This highlights the potential exposure to idiosyncratic or form-specific shocks,” it said.

Sure isn`t it a normal conversation on p.ie from the doomsters that these Corporations dont pay enough.

Now we are afraid they will move.

FG are very conservative. They wont base any long term increased expenditure on variable CT receipts.
