100,000 sq. metres would give you 1000 large apartments at say 500,000 each grossing 500 million.Brothers Tom and Mick Bailey are planning to develop a scheme of nearly 100,000 square metres on a significant site they own across the road from The Pavilions shopping centre in Swords, Co Dublin.
The Bailey’s company Bovale had a stand last week at the British Conference of Shopping Centres (BCSC) conference in Gateshead in England for their Charlestown shopping centre, which also included a picture of their Swords site and the scale of development envisioned on it.
The brothers, whose Charlestown shopping centre in Finglas opened recently, are looking to take advantage of the increase in densities that will be allowed in Swords following the opening of the Metro North route linking the area to the airport and the city centre. Significantly larger densities are envisaged along the route and local authorities have already put levies in place to take advantage of this. The levies will help fund the route’s construction.
It just goes to show how worthwhile it is to be inside the FF tent.
