    Serious question.
How is this libelous (or even libellous?)

The activity of these two men over the past 20 years and more is in my opinion downright scandalous and I agree wholeheartedly with the poster who says they should have all their gains taken off them as they were operating at a massive advantage through their tax evasion.

Hypothetically, if I was a builder who tendered against the Baileys for a job say in the late 80's and got beaten becuase I actually factored in my full tax burden for the job, i'd be ************************************ livid when the full facts emerged all the more so as I might have been driven out of business for trying to do things by the book while rogues prospered at my expense.

I usually don't like wishing ill on anyone but I hope Paul Appleby eventually tears these two new arseholes.

These two only settled when the amount represented a slap on the wrist to them after their wealth had swelled thanks in large part to the extra leverage their evasion afforded them
Compare their 22m with say some modest farmer who gets nailed for 100k+ after innocently being conned into putting a poxy 20k into a dud scheme by Bev and her gang.

If you think there may be wrongdoing involved then go make a complaint, there is no point bitching about it on a message board.

Does anybody know who owns the massive land bank, which will be the Park and Ride terminus for the proposed Metro?

Toxic probably means that he is not political in the sense that he is a member of a political party arguing a particular party position. He may be like many of us who must live with the consequences of gomeenism, planning corruption and the arrogance of the fourth-rate gob************************es who make up most of our government.

Anorak, the boys bidding against them in the 80's were most likely dodging taxes themselves and probably won out over someother indigent developer on another scheme.

Is Appleby after them too? Good on him. He is starting to go after the coveted people of our wonderful society. I see Flavin will be in the dock soon, but I dont want to go off point.

Face it folks, Baileys are not the only developers with huge landbanks in this city and many more will benefit hugely from infrastructural projects. When Dublin Port eventually moves to Breamore, there will be other developers coining it from that decision also.

it's kinda obvious that the N1 would be the route for the Metro. The dogs in the street (by that i mean planners and transportation porfessionals ) knew it from day 1. When 3 or 4 options emerge, everyone involved already knows the outcome. Metro West was even more obvious. The only rail line that had us stumped was Line BX, and it still does to this day
We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

Builders and developer build where people want to live or do business. Where would you expect them to build? in the Bog of Allen? As for "coining it", what do you think they are in business for, the good of their health? Ask any businessman why he went into business.
