    Michael O'Leary for Taoiseach

With the impending departure of the Bert wouldn't it be wonderful if we put Mick in charge as a form of Dictator for about 5 years, to kick apart and improve the whole structures of this State, maybe have Tony Ryan along as Tanaiste. He could start with banning FF and unemploying the lot of them, could you imagine the Bev getting a job with Ryanair starting on the Bucharest run, he'd put manners on her ok and have her auld fella carrying the bags for the Roma. Remove the planning process from every two-bit politician and transfer the value of upgrade to building through the State after compensating the owner, possibilities are endless.
The system and people running this country have gone nuts and needs to be reconstructed from the bottom up, who better than Mick to drive it on, the has said he needs a new focus.

in seriousness, mick's arrival on the political stage would not shock me.. the name O'LEARY, MICHAEL (FINE GAEL) on the Westmeath-wherever ballot in the 2012 elections (or before) is a live runner...

It's one thing doing that in the private sector but the faceless Sir Humpherys in the permanent government would never allow it.

He could be a genuine contender for Lord Mayor or Dublin

the reason he gave money to the PD's is because they were in government and because as a soft FG'er he sees no problem with it...
what we do know is that he hates FF.. and with the PD's gone (yes they are!!), FG are the only option for him.. he's hardly going to join Labour?!?!?!?

Can't seem him getting an overall majority though. So he'd have to doa deal with Labour. That = problems.

    Fine Gael? No way!
He's made large donations to the PDs so I'd say they will be his first port of call.
He did indeed. And had Harney do his bidding in blocking a decision on the second terminal in Dublin Airport while at the same time throwing hissy fits in the national press when he didn't get a decision either fast enough or in his favour.

So next time you get totally frustrated in the nightmare that is Dublin Airport, remember that, in part, this was caused by Harney and O'Leary.

The faceless Sir Humphreys inherited their positions from their dads etc., which was the British system and now needs updating from its tip your cap attitude to a modern European State, every law/idea that happens in the UK is here within weeks/months, read O'Leary's biog, it is all about attacking and controlling costs he would decimate the Civil Service but pick the good ones and nurture them, Tony Ryan could write the blueprint and Mick wouldn't need dig-outs or bribes.
