The day that happened is the day I fulfill my life long dream and become an eco terrorist, dedicated to taking him down.

Seriously though, this edification of O Leary is getting quite tiresome. He's just a particularly loud mouthed and self interested hyper capitalist. Tiresome at best, a one man environmental disaster at worst. Anyone who tries to make qeues at airports into a human rights issue through expensive marketing campaigns has lost my sympathy and my interest. I saw him debate at the BBC Europe lecture this year and I found him ill informed, glib and smug.

I suppose he could make a saving by limiting the amount of disabled people allowed in the country at one time...

You jest, but I bet he has it written down somewhere in one of his "my brilliant ideas" books

Ehrrmmm ..... aircrafts do have to be evacuated in event of accident, fuel leak etc. They are legally obliged to give us silly demonstrations of life jackets & have oxygen masks etc.

4 handicapped amongst 40(?) passengers is a lot to deal with in emergency. Now the people who love to sound politically correct wouldn't dare say it but there are limits to how much you can help disabled people. If we build a new building do we make all toilets disbaled friendly ? All parking spaces ? No... sensible quotas are put in place.

If the electorate do decide to embrace a solely consumerist relationship with their government, O`Leary would be the best man for the job.

How much we can help disabled people will be limited to the disposable income of the baby boomers as they retire over the next decade.

That is to say enterprises will be falling over each other to make their facilities accessible to the disabled.

Yes and that will again go to simple quotas- currently given the limited number of disbaled people a 4 in 40 for airlines makes sense.

That's actually quite high, but yes especially given the wealth transfer that has occurred, general age profile it will make sense that more disabled elderly will be more economically active. At that point Ryanair can increase its stewards & we can all pay more for the service.
