I'd give us a world class, integrated, public transport system.

Tradcat said what I was going to say.
We can turn the world around
We can turn the earth's revolution
    We have the power
    People have the power ...

I would try and make Ireland Carbon neutral by 2010. With that kind of Capital investment you could put a windfarm in every field in Ireland.
Build Europe’s biggest nuclear reactor in Rossport. Export the excess energy through the national grid to the UK. $profit$

Build a proper luas and metro service in Limerick, Cork, Galway and Dublin. Use cash not to pay compo to residents but send them to Rossport too. In to hell or to Connaught syle.

High speed train lines linking all main cities and most main towns. Improve public transport in general.

I doubt a Trillion would stretch to all this unfortunately.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

You know little of what money is and even less about inflation.

You may as well ask what would be the effect of pouring a trillion litres of water on O'Connell street and for argument's sake saying it doesn't make it wet.

I'd buy the North. You'd probably get it for half nothing from the Brits anyhow. Like the man says, those counties will be worth a mint once the planning comes through!

I'd but everybody a house. Averaging around 300k per house I'd get a little over three million houses, one for everybody.

Then I wouldn't have to listen to people moan on about house prices all the time.

But only if we can buy somewhere warm as well. Malta or one of the Canary Islands maybe.
