Just talking with she who must be obeyed about our plans for this year, and was just wondering if many of ye are staying in Ireland this year.
I know that it would be good to stay local and spend a bit of cash at home, but I really can't bring myself to do it. Same radio stations, same newspapers, same TV etc etc... Sometimes it's just good to get away.
In relation to costs, 2 weeks travelling around Ireland will set you back just as much as going away, so I don't think cost is a deciding factor.
What about you? Planning to stay at home, and being patriotic, or like me leg it out of here for 2 weeks for a bit of guaranteed sunshine.

For the first time in a few years, I'm getting out of this depressing hell hole. Although I love Ireland, it'll do me good to leave the emerald isle for a while.

Wasn't there a poll out recently that said the 90+% were planning on taking a holiday this year?

Generally go away for a week abroad and a week at home during a year. Heading to France in a few weeks and probably head down to Cork/Kerry in May/June. If I'm really lucky I'll get abroad in the autumn.

If it is at home it will most likely be the County Waterford, in September (not Tramore, and not Waterford City). Quiet time of the year. Purely to escape and have a reasonably cheap real slow week...
