Oh hi, drummed. You realise that you're next, yes? As a group (farmers), not you specifically.

One could say they are all related anyway.

Anyway, we have a right to set the terms of use for irish territorial waters. We should be carving our waters into blocks and selling 5 year leases to the highest bidder. it would generate a fortune in revenue and we wouldnt permanantly lose our rights of ownership.

The passport issue is a red herring. However the EU regards the caught fish as a european product and un-caught fish as european fish stock, whether the fish like it or not.

Don't be too hard on the fish. It's not their fault. They have an innate shoal mentality.

We could declare ourselves a fish sanctuary and then when they all show up change our minds?

I'm afraid that's just a repetition of the usual rubbish. Eurostat figures do not give a breakdown for the value of fish taken from Irish waters - they break their stats down by FAO "major fishing area", not by national EEZs. Ireland is part of the FAO's "North-East Atlantic" area, which is enormous (it includes the Baltic, for example).

And given that's the case, one should perhaps look equally critically at the other claims being made by Karen Devine, because she's talking bollox here.

And all you have to do to prove me wrong is go find me the figures for the Irish EEZ on Eurostat.
