I actually wish that clown/troll would come down to one of the protests...the keystones are not all bad and i reckon a fair lot of them have septic tanks and looking at the household charge like the rest of us .....one of them might oblige us all with a laugh and give this muppet a crack of a baton if they really did start becoming abusive.........

Can someone clarify: Is the exemption for all local authority estates or is it for local authority tenants. So, you will have former local authority tenants who have since bought the property paying the tax whilst the tenant of the local authority beside them is exempt. Is this the system? Tenants in flat complexes cannot purchase their flats so they are exempt but houses are different.
About 96.5k people have registered as of 4pm yesterday.
That's 6%.
96.5K either well paid people or simple push overs.
Got a leaflet in the door about it yesterday.
I am sure people are not bothered paying before next month as they don't have to.
I would say 60-70% of households will pay in the end.
At the start of January I would have guessed about 50% would pay up. I've changed my mind since. I don't think there will be much of a late rush to pay a tax that looks as if it is being boycotted by most of the population. Especially when the penalty for paying late is only €10. I'll be surprised if more than 25-30% of people will register before the deadline.
