Blame the US is lazy thinking. Point two above is interesting. Commentators in the US refer to Chermany as a short hand for countries that export like mad but refuse to stimulate their own domestic market to suck in imports and help lift others out of recession. The US did this for the last decade on the back of cheap credit. Credit is still cheap so China and Germany need to play their part by importing more.
