They [console fanboys] are not real gamers IMHO!

PC Gamers are real gamers. Everything else is wishy washy garbage.

My gaming PC has the power of 10 PS3's and my games look and play infinitely better.

Console market is for the dumbed down masses ... and most good games on console are usually released on PC also

PC gaming market is also the biggest and best in the world overall.

Just to clarify

PC is the most popular gaming platform - PC Gamer's Place

On the opening day of the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, the Alliance said the industry made about $11 billion world wide last year.

PCGA president Randy Stude said these figures underline the PC as the “Number 1 platform for gaming world wide”.

“Despite Xbox LIVE and PlayStation, the online platform that remains the most accessible and robust is the PC.”

According to research company IDC, there are over 1 billion personal computers world wide. The PCGA maintains that 250 million are being used for gaming.

The report also revealed that three of the biggest trends for last year were the growth of digital distribution, the rise of free games with a micro transaction model, and the increased presence of game cards at major retailers such as 7-Eleven

“The biggest story in PC games is the expansion beyond retail,” said Mr Stude.
PC the most popular gaming platform in the UK - The Tech Report

If I had a nickel for every time a forum fanboy or industry analyst foretold the death of PC gaming at the hands of consoles, I'd probably have at least enough money for lunch. Every time a new console generation comes out, we hear the same tired predictions. The quality of some PC games may have suffered due to developers scaling back their ambitions to fit within the confines of the current console generation, but PC gaming hasn't gone anywhere.

In fact, the PC is the most popular gaming platform in the UK. According to a study conducted by the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association and the Interactive Software Federation of Europe, more Brits game on the PC than on any single console. 33% of gamers reportedly play on the PC. That's enough to establish that PC has the largest share of any gaming platform, but the details beyond that are scarce. The study found that the Wii and Xbox 360 together capture 36% of gamers. It's unclear where either of those consoles sits individually or how the PlayStation 3 fares.

Firaxes just announced a new patch today revamping AI and Diplomacy for the new CiV.

The reality is that there are a lot of noobs out there complaining CiV has been dumbed down due to consoles but it is apparent as a Civ fan from day 1 that they simply used some of the nice ideas they had on console in relation to STREAMLINING the user interface. All the options and complexities are still there for PC but organised better. Civ on the console was a watered down Piece of garbage.

The new CiV actually was bold and implemented some of the biggest changes the series ever tried. It worked. I love it already. I will love it even more when the new patches come out.

Well of course it's going to be the most popular platform because everyone has a PC. The console market is by it's nature is more fragmented. The fact is that outside sims and MMORPG games all the PC gets is ports designed to work on different hardware
