April Exchequer figures still show slowing economy

The April Exchequer figures are out. The headline figures are that Excise Duty and CGT are running 5% below profile and Income Tax is 2.5% below. Corporation Tax is the only tax head keeping the overall tax take on profile, it is running about 33% ahead of profile. But Corporation Tax better reflects the economy 18-30 months ago rather than the other tax heads.

April figures are on the front page.
You will have to go into the January press releases to find the 2007 profiles.

Don't you mean "economy growing slightly less quickly than predicted" rather than "slowing economy" as in the thread title? Whatever about not exactly matching the profile (and receipts never will and that is usually because the profile is a guesstimate) I'm sure they are higher than last year and hence indicative of a growing rather than slowing economy.

nah I think slowing is ok and accurate, if he said something like stagnating or receeding then it wouldn't be accurate but slowing still means growing.

The inflation figures should be updated to include april soon too, I wonder will it be higher or lower, I think lower.
