So what if they are pension funds, let the Govt of the individual pension funds look after their own investors. Anglo was not our responsibility. 99.9% of us would never have had a dealing with Anglo including pensioners.

This was a bailout of the 0.1%. Fact.

Thats right, why is the Bad Bank . Good Bank model not mentioned anymore?

It was the logical move at the time. But now I suppose the distinction is very grey as the good assets for a good bank from all the institutes are turning toxic.

Also the state cannot afford to set up a temporary Good Bank. Where will they get the funds to set up the capital now?

Should have been done in October 2008. The template to do so was available.

If it is less than a 100k, they and you have nothing to worry about. If it is more than a 100k, tough, you lose your inheritance.

One thing is absolutely certain, it is not my fault, so it should not cost me a penny.

True but it still doesn't quite match the ragbag rabble of corrupt criminals, knuckle-dragging neanderthals and hopeless village idiots that constitute this government.

Anyone know how Long term capital management was wound down? And how long it took?

Long-Term Capital Management - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That was a huge hit for the US economy (though more complicated than the Anglo issue)

The main thing I see though is that it was bailed out by its creditors.

Why is this not being considered?
