Don't get me wrong - that's good news, but to put things in perspective, we lost 18000+ jobs last year. We'd need 7 of these announcements per fortnight just to stop the rot. Even if we doubled that to 7 of these per week it would take 15+ years to stem the tide and take 300,000 people off the dole. That's how deep the hole actually is.

    Agreed.

Take 200,000 people out of construction and re-employ them elsewhere is NEAR IMPOSSIBLE.

    From just 4 months ago.

In Sligo, pharmaceutical group Abbott is to invest 85m and create 175 positions. The new jobs will be in engineering, quality and pharmaceutical science. Some of the jobs will come on stream as the company expands its facility, the rest will be added in 2014.

and FG are continuing that tradition.

There has been no IDA sponsored visits by companies looking to create jobs in Co Donegal so far this year, Donegaldaily.com has learned.

And on top of that there were just TWO such visits to the county last year.

I wouldn`t want it. Labour have good TDs and SF have a few. We need some decent independents like Stephen Donnelly.
