NAMA designed to be to property what the CAP was to agriculture - difference, food production is essential.

To my non-economist's eye Matthews' analysis seems to be based in large part on projected default rates, which he repeatedly derides as wildly unrealistic.

Good work with your site btw NAMAWL

Thanks HRH, there appears to be nothing in the releases and press conferences about LEV and default rates and indeed overall haircuts - surely we cannot be expected to wait until June when NAMA will produce a non-draft business plan? Let's see what emerges from the press conferences and the rest of the debate in the Dail just now...

No worries CS, the population looks as if it will increase by the smallest amount in 20 years - a bit of a worry when you realise that NAMA can only consider analyses by the CSO prepared before 10th January 2010 when determining LEV - the CSO produced two scenarios for population growth in the next 15 years +600,000 and pplus zero, no consideration of negative migration at all - frightening.

Anyway a major new document just published by NAMA which draws together a number of statements today.
