Well I guess that's the end of his term as a vice-president of Fine Gael, so.

Agreed! Met him a couple of times and always found him very full of his own importance. In his pronouncements on Anglo he has been totally unable to separate reality from his own self interest.

Anglo is a joke, a festering sore that is costing us billions just to keep it supplied with heating and electricity. It shouldn't have been given any bank guarantee on deposits over €100,000. It shouldn't have been nationalised. It should have been allowed to go to the wall and we should have had first dibs on the loan book at a suitable discount like 60%.

It's Lenihan's biggest failure as Finance Minister.

Some on here, and many in corrupt circles, incompetent circles, greedy circles and golden circles, would argue that Anglo is Lenihan's biggest success!!

The reason Anglo is being saved, is to STOP the public finding out just:-
a. WHO in political life (all parties btw, except SF as they won't do that!!!) got loans/holds shares in Anglo, dodgy or otherwise
b. WHO in public service got loans/holds shares in Anglo, dodgy or otherwise c. WHO in Civil service senior management got loans/holds shares in Anglo, dodgy or otherwise
d. WHO in the Gardai at Senior management got loans/holds Shares in Anglo, dodgy or otherwise.

The Anglo scandal is THE SCANDAL of the 2000s, not the banking issue, not even the NAMA issue -it's ANGLO that is the cause and destruction of Ireland in the future.
