In recent years there have been numerous talks about creating a way to use wind to store energy. Please forgive my ignorance but I do not know exactly how this works but i presume, turbines are set facing the wind, wind blows and turns turbines and the energy created is stored? If this is in fact the case, is it possible to build a facility whereby people could turn said turbines. Via peddling walking, hand peddling etc? If so, I can't help but think almost everybody is capable of turning some sort of such a device. We currently have how many people unemployed. Would you go to work where you required to peddle a bike and have the energy you created stored. Payment could be on an amount produced amount paid basis, so you didn't have to sweat your behind off all day but work at your own pace. If we wanted to earn more then you would produce more. If we can in fact build such a facility we could this energy and sell it world wide.
Thanks for sharing that Dcon. Im still laughing!

Yeah, that's all we need. Given that only 1 field gas field in Irish waters has been tapped in the last 30 years, perhaps creating further disincentives to exploration isn't the best idea.

Somebody took my idea, I've been saying this for years!

I feel people should try to bring native animals like donkeys back to big figures like they were in the 19 centuary farmers should be given ensentives to do this.irish wolfe hounds now are few and far between i feel a person should go around checking the number of these animals.this would attract more tourists as this is what they want to see when they come here a donkey a pint of gunness and a farmer with a paddy hat

    We have a winner!

Can't wait to see McAleese handing over the price to some old lad perched on the back of a donkey with a length of bailing twine holding up his trousers.

Newsflash: McAleeses save economy with Donkeys.

Tags: employment It's a fact that many thousands of man hours are lost to the public service through "sick days" every year whereas the number in the private sector is significantly less and the practice really doesn't exist for the self employed. The reason for the anomaly is simple, in the public sector there's no good reason not to take the day off if your not feeling up to it whereas in the private sector your job could be at stake if you abuse the system and for the self employed it's "no work, no pay"..What I'm proposing is that the government launch a lottery style scheme for public sector workers with significant cash prizes for those who do not take "sick days". Lets say there'd be a draw every month and anyone who did not go sick in that month is automatically entered and someone wins a big tax free sum...I believe that this "reward system" would reduce significantly the amount of lost man hours at a time when we can ill afford them..

Pure shiiite of the highest order
This is getting my vote. Without a shadow of doubt, this is the finest idea on this website....turn up for work every day for month and get some of my two paycuts back....Happy days
