    BOSI - Job losses 750

Halifax BOSI pulling out of Ireland, 750 jobs lost | Newstalk - Ireland's National Independent Talk Radio Broadcaster

If there was a future for banking in Ireland would they have stayed ?

    Seems drastic.

Feel sorry for the 750 staff that had good wages & pensions.

    Devastation

Seven minutes to swing the thread to Public Sector bashing. Jesus.

    Stay on topic.
Nothing will motivate the lazy / apathetic / Americanised / west-British types to embrace their culture and the Irish language.

THe old switch and bait. How many hundred thousand jobs will be lost thanks to FF and the PD's being bought by sectional interests. The talk of free markets is all fine, but like communism it ends up benefiting very few. What about the FF/PD hacks at the very top of the semi-states etc, they will not have their wages cut. What about the failed enterprises that are our banks - that should have been let go to the wall.

Self-employed btw, I got off my ass and did something rather than ************************* about others, that are not responsible for this tidal wave of economic crap.

Your "logic" is deeply flawed. And I'm not entriely what point you think you are making.

What exactly does this have to do with Public Sector pay?

Must be part of the deal that you get media inches for a good news story.

Not great news. Of course, it is only the large job losses that actually get the headlines. I'd like to see RTE do a program on various towns around the country and highlight the death of a thousand cuts that manufacturing, retail and service industries are going through.

After the circus that was Lillis and Lee, this after all, is what news stories are all about. Honestly, I don't often get depressed, but the level of governance and direction we are getting from all politicians and all parties is enough to make me turn my back on all of them.
