May I ask which figures you used to do that rough calculation?
It looks roughly right but doesn't seem to tie in with the kWh figures quoted on the previous page.

roughly 2 million households average at €1000 , guessed another 4 to 5 billion for retail and industry ,and that is a rough calculations , the unit prices vary so i couldn't figure a kwh cost

Hmmm, household costs typically average about €600.
4 to 5 billion for retail and industry is fairly on the button though.

Taking an average figure of 12c per kWh would also be a decent enough indicator.

We need to radically change every system that has enabled the wholesale destruction of the Irish landscape, rural and urban. There is no time for incremental step by step measures. The systems have failed utterly and the only hope for a real recovery requires the rule book to be torn up completely.

    Stimulus?

There's no such thing. It doesn't exist. The notion was invented by socialists back in the 1930s who thought that by printing money you could fix the economy.

We are in a downward cycle, get used to it.

The only way out is to work harder.

I would have to agree with Heorditas when he said a more lasting effect could be derived from real energy efficiency, spend a few bob on real education in this area and there would be a benificial effect to the national economy.

For €6 billion we could build enough electricity storage to serve as Europe's rechargeable battery and keep 30,000 construction workers hard at it for a decade.
