Its not a recovery party we need, its a bloody revolution led by the same spirit of 1916.

If his constituancy is his house then he might get 5 votes, which is more than he'd get anywhere else. They might be annoyed when he leaves after less than a year due to a blow up with the wife. The big meanie won't listen to his ideas on how to cook dinner, despite the fact that she's been cooking dinner for years while he's been talking about how people cook dinner for years.

With the impatience just demonstrated by Lee I doubt many people would join his party.

The best thing Lee could do is to write an exposé of the Irish political system. The system is in need of dire reform, and Lee could have served the country well by pointing out the flaws.

But Lee will be equally muzzled on that front by returning to RTE. He wouldn't even comment on whether he thought Kenny was fit to be Taoiseach. Bad for Kenny obviously, but equally bad for Lee that he feels he can't express a political opinion now either!

Nothing wrong with George Lee being a man in a hurry

hits the nail on the head I think, I suspect that new terminal at Dublin Airport wouldn't be big enough to squeeze George's ego into it

Agreed. But Lee is trying to have his cake and eat it. Many admired his courage for resigning as RTE economics editor to try and shape economic policy of the major opposition party and by Lee's reckoning, next government.

Getting frustrated with the job, he's now effectively saying FG were like a bunch of schoolkids who wouldn't pass the ball to him (possibly true). However, he's trying to have his old job back, and is somehow claiming he's politically neutral again, which is fairly ridiculous. It's a courageous decision by him, but the fact is he will have zero influence on economic matters now whatsoever!

    Bang on.

He can never work in Current Affairs again in this country. He's completely tainted. I suppose he could host some sort of chat show during the summer break, where he could repeatedly interview himself. That might at least assuage his ego.

Let's not forget. We owe this guy a living (don't we?).

Or as in France 1789 with the Third Estate?
