You really are nieve as to role of our Embassys.
Not half as naive as you if you think that US politicians want to export jobs over here.

You really need to understand the links between US Politicians and Jobs..............do some digging on Ira Magaziner and see what you find about how the 2 are so interwoven.

I am fully aware of the work that Magaziner does and his work on the Telesis report of the early 1980s. I knew almost off by heart one time. And companies come here from the US for profits, not because some politico has a sentimental attachment to some cottage that he never even visited. And even more so today when their own own constituents are queing in bread lines.

As this thread has gone from righteous indignation and fury about misspent taxpayer's money to trite comments about gold plated toilets, I'll consider my brief foray in defending this government to be at an end.

It looks like Ambassador Declan Kelly won't be enjoying his Canadian mansion for much longer. He's being posted to Malaysia. I wonder what the living accommodation is like there?

It is understood that four of the 30 ambassadorships are being filled at first-secretary level, which is below the normal grade for such a position
And who's in for a demotion??
